Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join our perioperative team. Under direct supervision of a staff nurse, you will assist with preparing surgical patients and maintaining sterile technique across procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists with basic nursing care and preparation of surgical patients of all ages under the direct supervision of the staff nurse assigned.
• Assists in identifying patient needs based on age specific data.
• Selects appropriate instruments and supplies and sets up tables as required for specific operations.
• Prepares and maintains the sterile field for all surgical procedures.
• Prepares and passes instruments, sponges, and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintains a correct count.
• Functions as a member of the sterile team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
