Job summary

Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform a variety of ultrasound examinations under the supervision of the attending ultrasound physician. The role requires independent judgment in scanning methods for diagnostic purposes in Obstetrics/Gynecology.

Day shift, MON-FRI, 12 AM–8 AM schedule with 7.5 hours daily and a starting hourly rate of $42.03; ARDMS certified or eligible, and graduation from an accredited sonography program.

Qualifications

• High School required.
• AS preferred.
• Must pass Physics and Obstetrics to be ARDMS certified.
• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• Experience in obstetrics and gynecology as determined by Ultrasound Director.
• ARDMS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete sonograms of indicated areas following prescribed protocols (ACR standards).
• Position patients correctly based on habitus and exam requirements.
• Prepare preliminary impression and supply initial review impressions.
• Interview patients for identification, education and detailed clinical history with zero error for patient ID.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; infection control and equipment handling.
• Maintain and monitor ultrasound equipment and documentation in charts.
• Correlation of x-ray, lab results, and clinical data.
