Job Description

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring an Ultrasound Technician to join our OB/GYN Department at El Nuevo San Juan in the Bronx.

The Ultrasound Technician performs ultrasound exams, provides technical assistance to the Radiologist, and operates/maintains equipment. The U/S Tech preps patients and ensures adherence to policies and procedures established by the department and Urban Health Plan. This position will conduct 2D, 3D, and 4D fetal ultrasounds.

Operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record quality images.

• Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams including Abdomen, OB/GYN, transvaginal, and fetal ultrasounds in 2D, 3D, and 4D.
• Prepares patients for examinations by explaining procedures clearly to alleviate pretest anxiety.
• Obtains relevant patient history prior to performing exams.
• Maintains patient records and adds analytical notes to images and videos.
• Manages appointment schedules and ensures timely reporting of results to referring providers.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARDMS registration required (RDMS in OBGYN preferred)
• Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program
• At least one year of independent OB/GYN sonography experience beyond internships
• Exposure to all three trimesters, anatomy, and growth scanning
• Proficient in computer use and electronic health record software; knowledge of PACS is a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

Compensation

Minimum $80,000 per year; Maximum $84,000 per year.

Work Environment, Location, and Schedule

Onsite in Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
