Job summary

HHM Health in Dallas is seeking a per diem OB/GYN Sonographer to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations for obstetric and gynecologic patients, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians and clinicians. The role includes patient preparation, accurate imaging, documentation in the EHR and PACS, equipment maintenance, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards.

Requirements: ARDMS OB/GYN, NT certification, Texas licensure (or pending), BLS, and 1

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is required.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • RDMS with OB/GYN specialty is required; Nuchal Translucency certification is required.
  • Texas Medical Board licensure (if applicable) and BLS certification are required or obtained within guidelines.
  • Experience in OB/GYN ultrasound in outpatient settings is preferred.
  • Experience with EHR/PACS and healthcare IT systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identity and consent, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Recognize urgent/abnormal findings and communicate with supervising physician.
  • Prepare rooms and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies.
  • Document imaging procedures in EHR/PACS and ensure HIPAA/compliance.
  • Educate patients on procedures and provide compassionate care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, NPs, and staff.
  • Support scheduling, workflow, and quality initiatives in imaging.

Salary Range: $45.00 To $55.00 Hourly

Opportunities available in the heart of Dallas

We are seeking a per diem (PRN) Ob/Gyn Sonographer with a passion for service excellence to join our team in the Dallas area. The Sonographer would be responsible to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for obstetric and gynecologic patients while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff, the Sonographer obtains accurate diagnostic images, ensures patient safety and comfort, maintains equipment, and supports efficient clinic operations.

Here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll do
  • Verify patient identity, review medical history, explain procedures, obtainappropriate consent, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safety throughout each examination.
  • Recognize and promptly communicate urgent or abnormal findings to the supervising physician while working under delegated medical authority.
  • Prepare examination rooms andmaintainultrasound equipment, probes, and supplies while performing routine quality assurance and equipment maintenance.
  • Accurately document imaging procedures and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) and PACS while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, AIUM, ACR, ARDMS, and organizational standards.
  • Educate patients on ultrasound procedures, answer non-diagnostic questions, and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population.
  • Collaborate with physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate high-quality patient care and resolve patient concerns.
  • Support the organization's mission by ensuringtimelypatient scheduling, efficient workflow, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation activities, and a clean, safe imaging environment.
  • Share clinicalexpertiseand best practices while helping advance the organization's goal of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare and becoming the provider of choice in the community.
What you need to succeed

To be a productive member of our team, you will have a pleasant and professional demeanor, be a self-starter, the ability to work independently, strong communication skills, and the ability to preserve confidentiality. You will also have the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography programrequired; Associate's degree required ( Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Minimum one (1) year of OB/GYN ultrasound experiencerequiredor preferred, with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience highly preferred.
  • Experience performing both obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in outpatient women's health clinics, OB/GYN practices, hospitals, or FQHCs.
  • Current ARDMS certification and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential with OB/GYN specialtyrequired; Nuchal Translucency certificationrequired.
  • Current Texas Medical Board licensure (if applicable) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationrequiredor obtained within organizational guidelines.
  • Experience working in community health centers, nonprofit organizations, and with multicultural and multilingual patient populations preferred.
  • Proficiencywith electronic health records (eClinicalWorks or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and other healthcare technology systems.
  • Strong patient engagement, interpersonal, and communication skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and compassionate care.
  • Ability to travel and float between multiple clinic locations throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area as needed; bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership, professionalism, and a passion for making a positive impact by providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse and underserved communities.
