Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Stafford, Virginia, is seeking a board-certified/eligible OB/GYN to join our women’s health services. The position offers obstetric and gynecologic care across outpatient and hospital settings, with on-site coverage in Labor & Delivery and postpartum units.

The successful physician will manage prenatal through postpartum care, perform office-based procedures, provide preventive care, and collaborate with nursing and APCs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required with completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Active and unrestricted state medical license.
• DEA registration (or eligibility).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric care including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum management.
• Provide on-site physician coverage for Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and antepartum units.
• Provide on-site physician coverage for gynecologic patients including inpatient and ED consultations and admissions.
• Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions across the lifespan.
• Perform office-based procedures and surgical interventions as appropriate.
• Deliver preventive care including well woman exams and health screenings.
• Counsel patients on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff.
• Adhere to clinical guidelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and professional development activities.
