Job summary

Progressive Women's Health, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in Farmington CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. The practice operates in Farmington and Bloomfield, CT, with affiliations to St.

Francis Hospital/Trinity and University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital. Candidates must have MD or DO from an accredited medical school, be board certified or eligible, hold Connecticut licensure, and have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in OB/GYN or Women's Health.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to diagnose and recommend treatment, understand fetal growth and patient age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient data.
• Order or perform therapeutic procedures (injections, immunizations, basic wound care).
• Counsel patients on adherence to treatment, growth, development, and family planning.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and ensure continuity of care.
• Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System and assist with billing at visits.

Job description

Physician for Women's Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Progressive Women's Health, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in Farmington CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Current MD staffing within the practice includes 2 MD, 1 Certified Nurse Midwife, and 1 APRN. Physicians take equal call and service patients in two office locations: Farmington, CT and Bloomfield, CT. The practice is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital/Trinity and University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and have the ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs.

Position Highlights:

• Perform comprehensive physical examination, and compile patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations and basic wound care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, follows hospitalized patients as appropriate, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.
• Billing submission at time of office visit.
