Job summary

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced OB/GYN Department Chair to lead the department’s clinical and administrative activities, set divisions, and represent the department on the Medical Executive Committee.

The Chair will ensure policy adherence, arrange on-call coverage, oversee credentialing, and foster ongoing professional development to advance high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required
• Active IL medical license required
• Minimum 5 years of clinical practice preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead departmental meetings and provide leadership to department members
• Establish divisions within the Department and appoint division directors
• Enforce actions of the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Council
• Ensure adherence to Hospital and System policies, Site Protocols and Medical Staff Bylaws
• Define and enforce criteria for Clinical Privileges within the Department
• Coordinate integration of the Department with hospital functions and interdepartmental services
