Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey seeks a Certified Medical Assistant for the Maternal Fetal Medicine department. You will perform routine clinical and clerical tasks under physician supervision, room patients, take vitals, assist in exams, administer injections, and document in EMR.

Requires OBGYN experience, formal CMA training, and BLS. Day shift, 40 hours/week with potential evening hours; main location in Toms River with Eatontown support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification approved by AHA is required.
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
• OBGYN experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks: EKGs, vital signs, injections and meds as directed.
• Room patients, verify information, document vitals and medical history.
• Assist with examinations and minor procedures; maintain sterile environment.
• Support clerical duties: phones, scheduling, insurance verification, co-pays.
• Communicate with insurance providers for pre-authorizations when needed.
• Prepare rooms and arrange instruments for procedures.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
