Job summary

Eskenazi Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife-OB/GYN to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in collaboration with physicians. This role supports prenatal and postpartum patients, family planning, and coordinated care within Eskenazi Health’s safety-net system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or PA with a Master of Science degree.
• CNM requires a master's degree in nursing or a postgraduate program in midwifery and AMCB certification.
• Current Indiana license or eligible for one.
• Collaborative agreement with affiliated physician group.
• Current Indiana Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage uncomplicated obstetrical patients, including prenatal and postpartum care.
• Monitor fetal well-being with fetal Doppler and blood tests at office visits.
• Order and evaluate fetal surveillance with ultrasound and non-stress testing.
• Maintain professional skills and knowledge of guidelines to manage pregnancies with conditions such as gestational diabetes, chronic hypertension, obesity, prior cesarean, anemia, substance abuse, and conditions of comparable complexity.
• Recognize and refer high-risk patients according to established policies.
• Provide group prenatal care for cohorts of patients with similar social or educational concerns.
• Evaluate and treat gynecologic patients, focusing on breast and cervical health; treat vulvo-vaginitis, cervicitis, etc.
• Evaluate and manage referred patients for gynecologic conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, PCOS, pelvic pain, menopausal symptoms, and urinary incontinence; refer as needed.
• Provide family planning care, counseling all available methods of contraception; prescribe methods; insert/remove Nexplanon; insert/remove IUDs; counsel and refer for surgical methods.
• Evaluate patients by ordering and reviewing gyn ultrasounds and microscopic exam of bacterial and fungal smears.
• Procedures that WHNPs may perform: endometrial, vulvar and punch biopsies; I&D of abscesses; pessary placement; colposcopy.
