Job summary

Duet is seeking compassionate companions to support NYC seniors in a role that emphasizes social engagement and meaningful activities. The position is part-time to full-time with a recurring schedule, and applicants from varied backgrounds (artists, performers, students, educators, and more) are welcome.

These companions provide social support, help with daily tasks, and offer a caring presence. Training and ongoing support are provided by a team specializing in elder and memory care.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and reliable caregiver experience welcomed.
• Interest in elder care, memory care, or caregiving backgrounds encouraged.
• Ability to work with a flexible, recurring schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to NYC seniors, discuss events or shared interests, and accompany visits to cultural venues.
• Assist with non-physical tasks such as meal prep, errands, and light housekeeping.
• Offer safety supervision and standby assistance; remind to follow care plans or routines.
• For clients with dementia, communicate effectively and provide mental stimulation while ensuring safety.
