Job summary

Kaplan in New York City invites applications for an SAT Teacher. This in-person role conducts classes at various NYC locations (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx) with after-school hours, typically 9 two-hour sessions plus 1–2 practice exams weekly. There may be virtual teaching opportunities as well.

Training is provided for content and modalities. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree, 10-month commitment, at least 15 hours per week, SAT percentile 90, and authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Minimum ten-month commitment to the role.
• Weekday afternoon availability during the school year.
• Minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Scores within the 90th percentile of the SAT.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work independently with a remote manager.

Responsibilities

• Teach SAT students onsite in NYC in a classroom setting.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to tailor content.
• Prepare students using a curated curriculum and SAT language.
• Support students in and out of class to develop critical thinking.
• Use data to narrow achievement gaps for underrepresented students.
• Participate in world-class training and development.
• Deliver a part-time teaching schedule and flexible hours.
