Job summary

Amazon's AWS Infrastructure Services is hiring a Program Manager to join our Planning, Implementation and Coordination team within AWS Data Center Delivery in Herndon, Virginia. This role focuses on scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects across several data center locations.

You will review project forecasts, ensure infrastructure resources are available, and act as the technical point of contact for internal teams, coordinating with Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical point of contact for internal teams.
  • Perform process improvement by gathering data on failures or waste and working with teams to resolve them.
  • Perform rigorous hardware verification inspections to ensure quality on server racks, networking devices, and associated components.
  • Launch new network capacity and assist Deployment Technicians with rack deployments on heavy deployment days or Cabling team.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, deliver sustainable solutions, coordinate design, project timeline, schedule and construction works.
  • Collaborate closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. The Global Network Capacity Delivery organization is hiring a Program Manager to join our Planning, Implementation and Coordination team within AWS Data Center Delivery.

This role focuses on scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects across several data center locations. The Program Manager will review project forecasts, ensure infrastructure resources are available and will act as the technical point of contact for internal teams.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
  • 5+ years of project management experience (Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Experience in large scale data center network implementations and support.
  • Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.
  • Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE).
  • PMP certification.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
