Job description

Job ID: 10446516 | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The Global Network Capacity Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in‑class Program Manager to join our growing Planning, Implementation and Coordination team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team’s responsibilities involve scoping and planning interdependent capacity‑scaling projects across several data center locations and reviewing project forecasts to assure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.

As an IDND Project Lead you will be tasked with launching cutting‑edge server technologies and solving diverse Data Center technical impairments that impede launching new network capacity at a local data center level. The ideal candidate will deploy infrastructure quickly and accurately with a solid understanding of computers, servers, switches, and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective. You must have technical aptitude, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively deal with people in a wide variety of situations. Demonstrated problem‑solving ability, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate in high‑pressure situations while handling multiple critical priorities are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams.
  • Perform process improvement: gather data on common failures or waste and work with supporting teams to resolve, minimize, or eliminate them.
  • Perform rigorous hardware verification inspections to ensure quality on server racks, networking devices, and associated components.
  • Launch new network capacity.
  • Assist Deployment Technicians with rack deployments on heavy deployment days or with the Cabling team, if required.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with an eye on improvement.
  • Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction works.
Professional Responsibilities That Are Not Unique to This Position, but Necessary for Success at Amazon
  • Stay customer focused.
  • Exhibit excellent judgment.
  • Keep high standards—never be satisfied with the status quo.
  • Dive deep and be in touch with the details of the business or the technology.
  • Strive for innovation and simplification.
  • Have passion and convictions and the innate ability to inspire passion in others.
  • Have/develop strong negotiation communication, project management, and reporting skills.
  • Be results oriented.
  • Think big.
