Job summary

Kar Nut Products Company in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Roasting Operator for 1st shift to roast various nuts and support production goals. Regular hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm with overtime as needed. Starting pay is $16 per hour.

The role requires attention to food safety, accurate inventory, and teamwork to keep production running efficiently. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Calculator and computer proficiency; SAP handheld device.
• Self-directed;
• Ability to work well with peers and supervisors;
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production running efficiently.
• Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures; roasting room varies by season.
• Hi-Lo truck operation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Roast multiple kinds of nuts to support production goals.
• Ensure high food safety standards by inspecting and removing non-conforming materials.
• Manage proper cooking temperatures for oil usage on roasting machines.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts by recording essential information.
• Load and unload materials by hand and Hi-Lo as needed.
• Clean and sanitize roasting equipment and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow GMP, QFS, and OSHA safety policies.
• Work with team lead and supervisor to hit performance targets.
