Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a part-time Dietary Assistant to support patient meals and service. You will take orders, deliver carts, serve trays, and assist in the dish room while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and patient care.

You will restock beverage areas, assist patients with meal service, and participate in allergy and foodborne illness trainings. Prior healthcare or nutrition experience is preferred and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend English is necessary.
• Ability to multi-task and complete work without supervision in a timely manner.
• Prior customer-service and food handling experience preferred.
• Excellent customer-service skills and compassion for patients.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Knowledge of hospital diets helpful.
• Healthcare or nutrition experience preferred.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Takes patient orders over the phone and in person while providing excellent customer service.
• Delivers carts to the correct floor or patient area.
• Serves trays to patients and determines if they need anything else.
• Assists patients with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
• Assembles, retrieves and cleans patient trays.
• Assists in the dish room.
• Brews coffee and tea. May be required to restock other beverage areas.
• Re-stocks floor stock (if assigned) and follow standardized process related to floor stock
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
• Complies with all Trinity Health policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
