Job summary

Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport, LA is seeking a full-time evening dishwasher to support the dietary services.

You will sanitize all dishes and utensils, load and unload the dishwasher, deliver food carts, and assist with trash and floor cleaning in a fast-paced hospital kitchen. Teamwork with the dietary department is essential, and you must pass the pre-employment process.

Flexibility for evening rotations is preferred to cover shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all dishes and kitchen utensils are sanitized and sanitizer levels recorded daily.
• Loads and unloads the dishwasher.
• Reports any equipment problems to the Food Service Manager.
• Delivers and picks up food carts to designated areas.
• Empties trash cans after each meal and keeps dumpster area clean.
• Keeps the kitchen floor clear and sweeps/mops after meals with wet floor signs in place.
• Cleans and sanitizes carts as instructed.
• Cleans walls in chemical closet and dry storage.
• Cleans the ice machine inside and out as instructed.
• Organizes pots and pans on racks as instructed.
• Delivers food and beverages to residents or staff.
• Works as a team player with the dietary department and covers other duties as needed.

Primary Functions

• Responsible for ensuring all dishes and kitchen utensils are properly sanitized and records sanitizer levels daily.


• Loads and unloads the dishwasher.


• Reports any equipment problems to the Food Service Manager.


• Delivers and picks up food carts to the designated areas.


• Empties trash cans after each meal, or as needed.Keeps the trash dumpster area clean and ensures the lids are closed on the dumpster.


• Keeps the kitchen floor clear of all debris, and sweep/mop after each meal. Plus, ensuringthe “wet floor” sign is in place during mopping.


• Clean and sanitize carts as instructed by the Food Service Manager.


• Cleans all walls in the chemical closet, dry storage, etc.


• Cleans the ice machine inside and out as instructed by the Food Service Manager


• Organize pots and pans on racks as instructed by the Food Service Manager


• Delivers food and beverage items to residents or staff members.


• Works as a team player with the dietary department, adjusting duties to cover other assignments as necessary.
