Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Florida seeks a Food & Nutrition -Patient Svcs team member to ensure timely distribution of patient menu tickets for each meal period and modify tickets according to physician-prescribed diets.

The role requires basic computer skills and a HS diploma; experience in hospital dietetics is preferred but not required, with opportunities to work closely with dietitians and FNS staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or Certificate; or must obtain within six months of hire date.
• 1–2 years of computer experience; ability to navigate programs/systems.

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Require one (1) to two (2) years of computer experience (ability to navigate programs/systems).
• Require a High School Diploma, GED or Certificate; or must obtain within six (6) months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer competency in knowledge of all special diets for patient education.
• Prefer ability to communicate effectively, filing and mathematical skills required to compute dietetic values of food and to work with dietetic enteral formulas.
• Prefer courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with patients, hospital staff, fellow workers and the department management team.
• Prefer verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes, and labels.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience in hospital dietetics or related position.
• Prefer the ability to multi-task via multiple avenues such as (not all inclusive) phone, computer, mobile platforms, FNS staff, patient and/or other department staff communications and interactions).
