Job summary

Intermountain Health in Denver, CO is seeking a leader to head the Culinary Services team in the absence of other leadership while acting as the Nutrition Care Associate. This full-time role, with Sunday-Thursday shifts (12pm-8:30pm), focuses on patient and guest experience, quality standards, and staff coordination at Saint Joseph Hospital.

The position pays $21.02–$29.72 per hour with a 40-hour workweek and benefits; experience in food service leadership and nutrition is preferred.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
• ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current (Caregivers in call centers are exempt).
• Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize safe food handling techniques.

This position is responsible to lead the Culinary Services team or service line when other leadership is not on-site within the Culinary Services department while fulfilling the role of the Nutrition Care Associate. This position may be responsible for ordering and rotating supplies, and for planning, organizing, and facilitating catering functions and/or leading a satellite café location. Supports facility efforts to improve the patient and guest experience.

• Contributes to achievement of consumer satisfaction goals, patient engagement goals.
• Responsible to implement, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager, best practice, system-level initiatives.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
