Job summary

Salem Health is seeking a Nutrition Services team member forWest Valley Hospital in Dallas, Oregon. This unscheduled/per diem role supports multiple service areas, from barista duties to food preparation, while ensuring quality, safety, and patient-centered service.

The position requires a Certified Food Handler and at least 1 year in retail or healthcare food service, with barista/food prep experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Food Handler's card required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year experience in retail food service or healthcare food service.
• Barista and food preparation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple service areas by cross-training and filling in as a Barista, Food Preparer, Nutrition Services Associate, Dish Associate, and Server to meet staffing needs and ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and serve high-quality food and beverages that are fresh, flavorful, and visually appealing while following recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by running trays to patient rooms, assisting guests at POS stations, and responding promptly and professionally to customer and patient needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by adhering to food safety protocols and departmental standards in a fast-paced setting.
