Qualifications

• Minimum one-year experience as a Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility preferred.
• Possession of a food handler's permit, if mandated by state or county regulations.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect menus, assist patients with diet orders, and process menus.
• Update patient kardex for diet changes and document nourishment as ordered.
• Visit patients to gather food preference, allergies, and document nutritional history.
• Complete production sheets and document all special food requests.
• Check patient tray lines to ensure each meal's accuracy.
• Prepare and check early trays; assure scheduled food cart departures.
• Perform cleaning duties.
