Responsibilities

  • Follow production, preparation, and service instructions for meals.
  • Account for meals and manage reimbursements and ala carte sales.
  • Clean up kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom as directed.
  • Handle food safely per safety standards.
  • Operate point-of-sale equipment to process student meals.
  • Work efficiently with colleagues; attend trainings and workshops.
  • Interact with students in a positive, professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working hours: 5.5 hrs./day, during school day hours

Qualifications
  • Applicants must be a high school graduate or hold GED.
  • Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds, stand on a hard surface for 3-6 hours, bending twisting, repetitive motions.
  • Experience in institutional food service operations and/or school foodservice helpful.
  • Must complete Serve Safe course and pass exam with 70% accuracy or higher within 1 year of hire date.
  • Previous knowledge of point of sale experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete job duties within the contracted hours.
  • Must be able to work independently and manage their time efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Nutrition Services Associate: $20.91 - $23.42 Hourly
