Job summary

Cantex in Texas is seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to assist in delivering Nutrition Services. You may prepare and serve food items, set tables and trays, and assist with cleaning tasks. You will also deliver nourishments to patients and help maintain sanitation throughout dining areas.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, accurate tray preparation, and collaboration with the care team to support patient nutrition needs.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Handler Certificate.
• Experience in food service is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Ensures sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, tableware, and utensils.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment as assigned.
• Completes logs as assigned.
• Prepares dining room tables and patient room trays with proper tableware and condiments.
• Performs various food preparation tasks and assists in portioning servings.
• Prepares and serves beverages for trayline and dining rooms.
• Performs other cleaning tasks per schedule.
• Delivers nourishment and supplements identified with patient labels.
• Maintains tray tickets and makes necessary changes.
• Delivers soiled linens to laundry.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards.
• Fills orders for between-meal nourishments.
• Wraps flatware in napkins where applicable.
• Clears dining tables and trayline after meals.
• Maintains daily care of dishwashing areas and sinks.
• Empties trash and cleans as assigned.
• Performs floor care by sweeping/mopping.
