Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to assist in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients and crafting meals for staff and visitors. You will likewise help with special functions and ensure food safety and cleanliness throughout the kitchen areas.

The role supports patient well-being by following dietary instructions and delivering timely meals, with opportunities to work varied shifts as needed within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Food safety guidelines and safety procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Ability to follow therapeutic diet guidelines and recipes
• Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings/weekends
• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperature for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret recipes and follow written/verbal orders.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble/deliver late patient trays, supplements, and special requests.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays to meet time tables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.

• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed.
