Job summary

Next Door is seeking a Nutrition Service Provider Assistant Dishwasher to support the Nutrition Service Team in daily CACFP-compliant food service tasks. The position may be 10-month or 12-month depending on site location.

You will assist with meal prep, breakfast and snack delivery, food storage, and serving meals to classrooms in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Training and safety requirements are emphasized throughout the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of efficient use of kitchen appliances and equipment (dishwasher, microwave, etc.).
• A minimum of six months of experience working in a food service position or related duties, handling food and washing dishes.
• 1 year of cooking experience preferred.
• Preferred possession of a current driver's license. Must be willing to work at other sites upon request.
• Must possess current CPR certification at all times. If not certified upon hire, NDF will provide training.
• Must be willing to have a tuberculosis test at the time of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
• Successfully pass a physical examination that verifies the employee is free from communicable disease and is physically able to perform required job responsibilities. Required every 2 years thereafter.
• Successfully pass the Caregiver Background Check.
• Have a valid Serve Safe certification.
• Have knowledge of FIFO.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for washing dishes after each meal served.
• Assist with delivering all meals to the classrooms.
• Set up for catering events and ensure that event food and supplies are delivered to the correct location and that they are delivered on time.
• Work cooperatively with other employees and the general public, including families and children
• Attend all mandatory trainings.
