Responsibilities

• Follows proper telephone etiquette and procedures with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
• Offers menu alternatives per dietary restrictions, allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, and when patients inquire or need additional selections.
• Responds to patient needs at all times, resolves concerns or complaints immediately, or reports required assistance to supervisor.
• Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within diet order limitations.
• Coordinates with nursing staff to verify accuracy of diet prescriptions and ensure patient food needs are met.
• Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies per HIPAA guidelines.
• Meets federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Follows HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food to ensure quality and safety.
• Completes all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies and procedures on time.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
