Job summary

DC Central Kitchen seeks an experienced Nutrition Manager to lead menu development, nutrition education, and community engagement across our Food Access programs. You will collaborate with culinary, procurement, and school food teams to ensure compliant, locally sourced menus while aligning with regulatory requirements and contract goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Nutrition or related field and 4–6 years’ experience, with strong communication, organization, and team leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 6 years of experience in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Familiarity with USDA programs and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with menu planning software (Mosaic or Gaia K12).
• Excellent oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain a DCPS clearance and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead menu development for cycle menus meeting meal pattern requirements and financial benchmarks.
• Collaborate across culinary, procurement, and school food teams on new processes.
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff on menus and nutrition education.
• Monitor menu performance using data and evaluation metrics to drive improvement.
• Oversee nutrition education and community engagement aligned with grants and contracts.
