Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service – EFNEP in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Nutrition Education Associate. This staff position teaches nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity to adults and youth, using approved curricula, in person or virtually, to low-income audiences in community settings.

Must have a High School diploma, at least 6 months related experience, ability to travel locally, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Six months of related experience working with youth and/or adult audiences.
• Experience with low resource audiences and partnering with support systems.
• Knowledge or teaching experience related to nutrition, food safety, food resource management and physical activity topics.
• Experience teaching groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Recruits adults and/or youth who meet program guidelines.
• Uses research-based, approved educational materials to instruct youth and/or adults in-person and/or virtually.
• Prepares food for recipes and instructs participants through food demonstrations.
• Collects and tracks program data.
• Mentors and/or trains Nutrition Education Assistants when needed.
