Job summary

Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital in Utah is seeking a PRN on-call Food Service Associate. You will perform a variety of kitchen and guest service duties, including patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashiering, food preparation, serving, and cleaning.

Shifts vary from early morning to late night, Sunday through Saturday, with pay based on experience. This role requires a Food Handler's Permit and offers no benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position includes the following roles, which will vary by facility need: patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning.

Position Details

• PRN, on call or as needed


• Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.68 - $22.99


• Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday for variable shifts between 6:30am - 12am


• Dynamic team with opportunities to cross train and support different kitchen areas for more exciting shifts!

Essential Functions

• Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process.


• Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (following standard recipe, assembling ingredients) for example, prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.


• Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g. dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels)


• Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods).


• Performs accurate cash/credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Food Handler's Permit (required)


• One year of cashier, food service or patient experience (preferred)


• Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets (preferred)


• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.


• Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.


• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.


• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.


• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.


• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
