Job summary

Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services Clerk to support patient meals and room service operations. You will take orders, enter them into the computer, and assemble and deliver meals while maintaining accuracy under time pressure.

This role emphasizes direct customer service in retail areas and orientation of patients to Room Service, with a focus on calm, organized performance in a fast-paced health care setting.

Qualifications

  • National Food Handler Card required upon hire.
  • 2 years related food preparation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Take and enter patient meal orders and expedite as needed.
  • Monitor patients' menu selections and assemble/deliver orders.
  • Orient patients to the Room Service program and provide direct customer service in retail areas.
  • Read and interpret orders, work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Description

In accordance with assigned position, performs a variety of clerical/technical duties in support of patient nutrition. May orient patients to the Room Service program; receive meal orders and perform computer data entry; monitor patients' menu selections; and assemble and deliver orders. Must be able to take orders directly from the customer and read, interpret and expedite customer orders in an organized and timely manner. Must be able to work under the pressure and stringent time constraints and remain calm and organized. Direct customer service and contact with customers in the retail areas is required in this position.

Required Qualifications:
  • National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority upon hire.
  • 2 years related food preparation experience.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
