Job description

The role involves working closely with the nutritional services team to enhance the quality of meals provided within the organization. The Nutrition Assistant will contribute to menu planning, ensure compliance with dietary guidelines, and support the team in delivering daily meal services efficiently. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic environment focused on promoting healthy and nutritious meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Kitchen Manager
• Will be responsible for all aspects of dishwashing operations & keeping within sanitation guidelines
• Be able to work at a moderately quick pace
• Service of food in the cafeteria
• Assists with cleaning & dishwashing during service breaks
• Perform daily clean-up to include sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, carts, cleaning sinks, and washing dishes
• Perform assigned responsibilities quickly in order to assist in other kitchen tasks when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Possess a standard knowledge of kitchen operation.
• Possess knowledge of chemical cleaners and their proper usage.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
• Previous experience in a food service or nutrition‑related role is a plus.
• Possess knowledge of common health safety procedures.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, assistance with 50 pounds
• Basic knowledge of nutritional guidelines and food safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Certification in food handling or willingness to obtain one.
