Job summary

Dignity Health's St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino seeks a Nutrition Assistant to support patients and staff with high-quality, safe food service and a positive dining experience tailored to dietary needs.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering meal trays, assisting with food prep, cashiering, serving in the retail area, tray assembly, cold food prep, dishwashing, inventory support, and general cleaning; strong attention to detail and food safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Handler Permit is a requirement by San Bernardino County; you must obtain it within 30 days of hire.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Nutrition Assistant, you will help patients and staff receive high-quality, safe, and efficient food services so they can have a positive dining experience focused on their dietary needs and preferences.

Every day you will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, and maintain cleanliness and food safety compliance. You will be expected to seamlessly interact with patients, handle cashiering, serve in the retail area, assemble and retrieve patient trays, perform cold food prep, and manage various utility assignments including dishwashing and general cleaning.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, possess strong food safety knowledge, and provide excellent customer service.

May be responsible for one or more of the following:

• Cashiering
• Serving in the retail area

• Performing cold food prep
• Performing utility assignments (e.g. dish washing washing pots & pans maintaining equipment)
