Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to deliver patient meals and support the Food and Nutrition Services team. You will follow guidelines carefully and interact with patients, families, and hospital staff with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Ideal candidates read and write well, have a High School diploma, and can obtain Food Handlers licenses within 90 days. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential, along with basic computer/tablet use and food service equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write well and follow guidelines accurately.
• Nutrition in a Nutshell within 90 days of hire.
• Positive attitude, friendly appearance and willingness to learn.
• Team player; able to work as part of a hospital nutrition team.
• Ability to use a computer/tablet and basic food service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient meals to assigned rooms accurately and on time.
• Set up and monitor meal service according to guidelines.
• Provide courteous service to patients, their families, and hospital staff.
