Job summary

Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to join our Nutrition Services team and help ensure patients, families and visitors receive high-quality nutritional care.

The role is .7 FTE with an evening shift and part-time schedule. Required education includes a high school diploma; a two-year nutrition degree is preferred, along with relevant food service and direct patient care experience. Washington State Food Handler's Card is also required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two-year degree in Nutrition preferred.
• Minimum one year food service experience.
• Minimum one year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Minimum six months experience in a customer service-oriented position preferred.
• Washington State Food Handler's Card.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Nursing staff, Doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians and others to provide optimal nutrition care for patients.
• Perform routine functions from processing meals, menu modification to tray accuracy.

Position Summary

The Nutrition Assistant is a collaborative opportunity on our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will ensure MultiCare patients, families and visitors have the best possible nutritional health care experiences.

FTE: .7, Shift: Evening, Schedule: Part time

• You will collaborate as a team member with Nursing staff, Doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians, and other department staff to provide optimal nutrition care for patients
• You will perform a variety of consistent and routine functions from processing meals, menu modification to tray accuracy
• You will provide outstanding customer service in support of our organizational values while serving a diverse population

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Two-year degree in Nutrition preferred
• Minimum one (1) year food service experience
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a direct patient care setting preferred
• Minimum six (6) months experience in a customer service-oriented position preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.09 - $33.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
