The Goddard School is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher in Michigan to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging early childhood programs. You will help manage the classroom, ensure safety, and foster a nurturing environment for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ECE degree preferred
• Experience with young children in licensed childcare/preschool setting
• Empathy and compassion for young children
• Ability to work independently and be productive without supervision
• Understanding of child development basics
• Lift up to 50 lbs and pass state background checks

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, inviting environment
• Supervise children and provide individualized support
• Communicate with families about child progress and activities
• Adhere to health, safety, licensing guidelines
• Support daily care routines to create a nurturing learning atmosphere
