Job summary

The Baptist facility in Southaven, MS is seeking a Head Nurse to oversee patient care, staff management and day-to-day operations of a nursing unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience on current unit or in like setting/specialty area.
• RN licensure; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Strong clinical leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Ability to coordinate care across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, review, and integrate diagnostic data relevant to the patient’s current condition.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and other disciplines to identify opportunities for department improvements and drive change.
• Intervene and provide guidance during life-threatening situations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to improve patient outcomes.
• Lead clinical activities such as coaching, mentoring, hiring, and performance evaluations.
• Engage in activities to improve health care delivery.
• Communicate and collaborate with the care team.
• Support lifelong learning.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
