Overview

The nursing technician is a member of a team dedicated to providing the highest quality care and services to our patients by assisting in such functions as maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment; assisting with dietary aspects of care, transporting patients, and assisting visitors. As an integral part of the team, the nursing technician is responsible for activities, which promote patient-focused care within the patient unit.

Responsibilities

• The nursing technician provides safe direct patient care under the guidance of the professional registered nurse.
• The nursing technician provides indirect patient care under the direction of the registered professional nurse and according to the goals and medical care plan of the patient.
• The nursing technician demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability.
• The nursing assistant supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
• Maintains responsibility and accountability for own practice.

• Use of patient care equipment; bed alarm and scale, geri chairs, stretchers, wheelchairs, bed, equipment for specialty unit.
