Job summary

Responsibilities

• Directs and facilitates patient care flow for the department/area.
• Coordinates and directs patient care operations for assigned shifts.
• Ensures care appropriate to age and specialty of patients.
• Manages personnel, analyzes workload and skill needs for care delivery.
• Promotes cost containment and responsible resource use.
• Advocates for patients and families; upholds ethical procedures.
• Maintains positive peer and guest relations within the unit.
• Participates in quality improvement and nursing research activities.
• Acts as a leader and mentors staff development.
• Ensures adherence to internal controls and reporting structures.
