Job summary

Palomar Health is seeking a Nurse Supervisor for the Emergency Room to provide leadership for the assigned shift. You will oversee assessment, evaluation, coaching, and monitoring of staff, and ensure nursing processes are applied while maintaining regulatory readiness and patient-focused care.

The role requires a current CA RN license, with BSN/MSN preferred, and certifications such as PALS/ENPC, CPR, and possibly TNCC/ACLS. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing preferred.
• PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire; CPI within 6 months of hire.
• ACLS and BLS for Healthcare Providers as required.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, evaluation, and coaching of ER staff.
• Ensure regulatory readiness and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Maintain nursing process in clinical duties and age-appropriate care.
• Provide excellent customer service and service recovery when indicated.

Job Description: Range: $56.81-$85.33 Posting Date: 8/14/2026 Provides tactical support to meet the goals and objectives of the organization and service for the assigned shift. Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, discipline, coaching and monitoring of staff. Functions in a leadership role contributing to the efficient and effective operations of the service. Maintains clinical competency and utilizes the nursing process when carrying out clinical duties. Assures that care, equipment and services provided are appropriate for the ages and needs of the population served. Ensures ongoing regulatory readiness of the staff and service, participating in chart reviews, monitoring and other performance improvement activities as assigned. Adheres to the highest customer service standards and hold staff accountable for the same. Provides prompt service recovery when indicated. Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Job Requirements

• Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing
• Minimum Experience: 3 years related clinical experience or 2 years related clinical experience with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Experience: 3 - 5 years progressive supervisory experience rior financial management
• Required Certification: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency RN Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 6 months of hire Crisis Prevention (CPI) within 6 months of hire American Heart Association recognized Advanced Cardiac Life Support American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider Trauma RN Core Curriculum (TNCC) within 1 year of hire
