Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to lead Nursing Administration at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. The role coordinates patient care delivery, ensures appropriate staffing, and supports nursing practice and institutional goals.

The supervisor navigates day-to-day operations, guiding staff and collaborating with physicians and administration. Qualified candidates will have NYS RN licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS readiness, and a Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• 3 years’ experience in an acute care facility or related specialty area.
• Current NYS RN Licensure.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire.
• PALS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Oversight: Manage hospital operations during off shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care, resolving clinical issues, supporting staff in real-time decision-making, and responding to emergencies.
• Staff Support & Collaboration: Mentor and coach clinical staff, facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, support patient flow, and contribute to performance evaluations and regulatory compliance.
• Patient Advocacy & Safety: Round on patients, address concerns, ensure a safe and respectful care environment, promote informed decision-making, reinforce policies, and maintain staffing and infection control standards.
