Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital. Supervises nursing staff, assesses patients needs and provides nursing care for patients. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

Essential functions include hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff, developing nursing protocols, continuing education, and maintaining patient records and supply inventories in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
• 1 to 2 years supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services.
• Participates in developing nursing protocol and procedures.
• Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Assesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented.
• Maintains patient health care records.
• Maintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment, as necessary.

Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital. With 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Our 46-bed behavioral health unit offers treatment for adults ages 18+, including dedicated services for geriatric patients. The unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support for mental health issues and like the LTACH, we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located downtown Dayton near the I-75 and I-35 junction, to the west of the Great Miami River.
