Job summary

Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the full-time night shift or PRN in Colorado. You will administer medications, monitor residents, and coordinate with CNAs, delivering compassionate, person-centered care in a busy clinical setting.

The role requires CO RN licensure, Eden Alternative familiarity, and strong teamwork. Expect shift variety including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with comprehensive benefits and on-site patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved RN program with CO license.
• Ability to supervise CNAs and provide bedside nursing care.
• Familiar with Eden Alternative Principles and person-directed care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Perform regular rounds and observe neighbor conditions.
• Document and report symptoms and progress to DON/nurse supervisor.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and safe, therapeutic environment.
• Supervise and train nurse aides as needed.
• Support implementation of care plans and patient safety initiatives.

JOIN OUR TEAMFull-Time Night Shift or PRN Available8 hour or 12 hour shift optionsIt is our philosophy for our team to work, not in a spirit of public charity, but out of respect for, genuine interest in, and sympathetic understanding of another human being; to help each neighbor achieve optimal physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial functioning.Primary Job Purpose:To assure the daily needs of neighbors (residents) under their care are provided for, including safely administering medications and treatments and providing supervision, assistance and assignments for the CNA Care Specialists.Essential Job Functions:Practice the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.Participates actively in neighbor care planning, noting needed changes.Assumes responsibility for accurate observation, recording and reporting to the appropriate persons the symptoms, reactions and progress of neighbors assigned to their care.Promptly informs the DON or nurse supervisor of any problems concerning the health or safety of neighbors or staff under their supervision.Makes regular rounds on all neighbors throughout the shift per neighbors’ needs.Administers prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, with an understanding of the nursing implications (drug actions, interactions, adverse effects, etc.,).Orders needed medications from the pharmacySafeguards and administers drugs in accordance with the law and with established policies.Assists with the orientation and training of new personnel.Administers IV medications on assigned neighborhood or on other neighborhoods when needed to assist LPN on duty.Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth.Assists with periodic evaluation of nurse aides.Recognizes legal implications and responsibilities in regard to the practice of nursing and delegates only those duties which can be legally or safely delegated to others.Maintains a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment within the department by encouraging adherence to established standards, policies and procedures, maintaining orderliness of the neighborhood, and fostering cooperation with other departments.Maintains confidentiality of all work related information according to HIPAA regulations.In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.Material and Equipment used but not limited to:Equipment associate with patient care such as lifts, tubs, wheelchairs, gait belts, specialty beds, blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeters, glucometers, etc.Use of telephone, call bell paging system.Working Environment/Physical Activities:Must be able to push/pull up to 250 pounds regularly using a wheelchair. Must be able to lift 0-50 pounds regularly by self and 50+ pounds occasionally with assistance.Frequently walks, stands, bends, lifts, pushes.Employee will be working in a busy clinical environment which includes being on feet up to 90% of the shift.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood-born pathogens; works near moving mechanical parts.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Working Hours:As scheduled by the Director of Nursing and which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Able to supervise care given by nurse aides, and has the bedside nursing skills needed to provide quality care.
