Job summary

Summerlin Hospital within the Valley Health System, owned by Universal Health Services, is seeking a Nurse Apprentice in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves performing patient care activities under supervision, in a fast-paced hospital setting with a busy maternity unit and NICU presence.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, have completed at least the first semester, and hold a current BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least the first semester.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• Nurse Apprentice must provide most current competency check-off list from their school to their supervising manager and maintain current competencies.

• Responsible for performing patient care/service activities/procedures as outlined by the state board of nursing and within the Nevada Nurse Practice Act.
• Performs assigned duties under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children's Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women's health, and oncology care.
