Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Manager of Nursing Services in the Tele Med Surg department at Unity Hospital. The role coordinates and oversees patient activity within defined areas, supporting the Director in achieving department goals focused on quality, safety, and patient experience.

The individual acts as a coach and mentor to staff, builds collaborative relationships, and leads efforts to engage teams while maintaining service excellence and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Two years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors.
• RN licensed in New York.

Responsibilities

• Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and safety.
• Rounding to engage staff and assess patient experience and engagement.
• Direct care to patient population within area of responsibility.
• Assist in developing programs to monitor quality of care outcomes and motivate the team.
• Collaborate with medical and administrative colleagues to set patient care goals and daily operations.
• Assist in resource allocation and monitoring of budgets and productivity to support care quality.
• Oversee performance appraisals and mentoring of department staff.
• Identify and solve problems, implementing timely corrective actions.
• Help implement departmental and corporate policies in line with standards.
• Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and staff competency in care delivery.
• Support staff development and succession planning.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and patients/families.
• Serve as a unit leader and resource person for nursing staff and providers.
• Investigate and resolve patient/family complaints.
• Delegate responsibilities to nurses and ancillary staff.
