Job summary

Florida National University is seeking a Program Director of Nursing to lead and coordinate the RN program across campuses. The role partners with the Department Head to ensure high-quality instruction, clinical experiences, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will manage admissions criteria, supervise faculty, schedule clinicals, and engage in university events. A Master's in Nursing, an active Florida RN license, and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse (RN) with an active Florida Nursing License.
• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program and institution.
• 2 years management experience.
• 5 years clinical experience in nursing.
• 3 years teaching experience.
• Good critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
• Good planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide the Registered Nursing Program.
• Assist in development of admission, retention, and progression criteria.
• Interviews and screens students and faculty for the campus assigned.
• Provides faculty orientation (lecture and clinical instructors).
• Evaluates and tracks all nursing students registered in prerequisite courses.
• Verifies and signs nursing faculty hours and reports them to Payroll Office.
• Assists with the program’s schedule and clinical schedules.
• Attends nursing meetings and administrative meetings.
• Attends affiliation institution meetings.
• Prepares orientation, graduation, pinning ceremony, and nursing events.
• Ensure students receive required hours of instruction, lab and clinical practices.
• Supervise instructors during lectures, labs, and clinical rotations.
• Review annually the faculty progress of the University.
• Maintain program records and documents, faculty/student folders.
• Prepare the program’s schedule and clinical schedule with faculty on a semester basis.
• Ensure syllabi are updated and distributed to leadership and library.
• Complete documentation and reports required by the Board of Nursing.
• Maintain and acquire the appropriate number of clinical facilities.
• Supervise students in clinical practices and ensure classes run on campuses.
• Maintain communication with clinical facilities.
• Provide planning and evaluation reports to VP Academics.
• Oversee actions for improvements at campus level.
