Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is hiring a PCU nurse in Rockford, Illinois for a 13-week assignment with potential extension. Shift is 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three days per week. Pay rate is $60–$64 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care as prescribed by Physician/hospital policy.
• Participates in department/unit performance improvement activities.

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PCU for a temporary assignment in Rockford, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PCU:

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Documents according to standards of care
• Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance
• Utilizes clinical expertise and provides guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Utilizes critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command
• Maintains current IL License, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required
