Job summary

Cody Regional Health is seeking a PACU nurse in Cody, Wyoming for a 13-week assignment with potential extension. Shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, five days per week. Pay rate ranges from $59 to $63 per hour, with weekly payroll and full benefits through Astrya Global.

The role requires active RN licensure, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and TNCC within six months. You’ll provide direct patient care, monitor hemodynamics, and collaborate with the perioperative team.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state where practice is required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications current.
  • TNCC certification within 6 months of hire or as available.
  • Current state RN licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and adjust nursing plan for optimal outcomes.
  • Perform focused assessments across age groups and monitor vitals.
  • Interpret hemodynamic data and respond to arrhythmias using ACLS/PALS.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist physicians as needed.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
  • Educate patients and families and ensure proper discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with the care team for smooth patient transfers.
  • Supervise nursing students and participate in in-services.

Job Title: PACU
Location: Cody, Wyoming
Schedule: 5:00AM - 1:30PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 - $63/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PACU for a temporary assignment in Cody, Wyoming. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PACU:
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
  • Perform focused assessments and reassessments for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations
  • Monitor hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interpret results
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identify arrhythmias, and intervene using ACLS and PALS algorithms and physician orders
  • Prepare patients for examination or procedures and assist the physician as needed
  • Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient history, condition, vital signs, treatment, response to intervention, and change of status
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity; function as a liaison between the patient, physician, and other healthcare providers
  • Educate patients based on identified learning needs, evaluate effectiveness of patient learning, include family in teaching as appropriate, and review discharge instructions
  • Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and patient clinical condition; calculate, prepare, hang, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids and medication drips
  • Perform treatments and procedures as directed, within the individual's training and capabilities
  • Ensure all rooms and work areas are kept clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Verify supplies are stocked and stored in appropriate locations
  • Complete daily department tasks, monthly outdates, and survey compliance checks as scheduled
  • Communicate questions and concerns through the chain of command as appropriate
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees to the department
  • Supervise and provide nursing students opportunities to observe and learn
  • Attend mandatory in-services, yearly education days, and department meetings; enhance professional growth by attending educational offerings pertaining to Perioperative Nursing
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate smooth patient transfers
  • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Obtain TNCC certification within 6 months of hire or as class availability allows
  • Maintain current state licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
