VEG is seeking a Nursing Manager in California to lead the veterinary nursing team in emergency care. You’ll shape culture, empower staff, and ensure exceptional patient care while maintaining medical excellence and team pride.

This role partners with hospital leadership to optimize workflow, staffing, and training, with opportunities for mentorship, in-house leadership programs, a competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in-state required; AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role; 2+ years leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Works well in a fast-paced, diverse team environment.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU NEED

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is strongly preferred
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency-specific experience preferred; 2+ years of leadership experience
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
• Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
