Job summary

Coastal Alabama Community College is seeking a Nursing Instructor to plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom and lab activities, including counseling, advising, and committee participation. The role requires teaching on multiple campuses, including possible evenings or weekends.

The position follows the Alabama Community College System salary schedule (D1) for 9 months. Candidates must possess a Master’s in Nursing, an Alabama RN license, and the ability to teach across campuses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Unencumbered Alabama registered nurse license or appropriate multi-state licensure.
• Experience as a registered nurse in a specific medical department/unit or course taught.
• Evidence of excellent clinical skills and experience providing clinical supervision of nurses or nursing students.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility in handling diverse course loads.
• Ability to traverse to teach on multiple campuses.
• Proficiency with Office 365 programs and various College platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops curriculum, plans and organizes program courses in coordination with other instructors to ensure curriculum compliance.
• Effectively teaches lecture and/or lab courses on any Coastal Alabama Community College campus or work site.
• Posts and maintains office hours; submits reports and attendance verification; prepares and submits syllabus for each course.
• Keeps students informed about their progress with prompt grading and timely response to inquiries (Mon–Fri).
• Provides academic advising and assists with college registrations and recruitment.
• Stays current with trends and participates in professional development to improve curriculum.
