We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Provide instruction and facilitate check off for health sciences courses including lectures, labs, and independent study. Participate in curriculum development and review and order instructional materials and equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist during lab portions of all health sciences courses offered dual credit.
  • Assist student skills facilitation at clinical sites under oversight of faculty.
  • Review computer software, and videos, and advise faculty on recommended usage of these materials in their courses.
  • Order and maintain an adequate stock of equipment; supplies as needed for skill performance.
  • Assist and participate in curriculum development, and development of check-off scenarios for the health sciences lab courses offered dual credit, MSAA, and related certificates on Collin campuses
  • Schedule use of the health sciences lab as needed.
  • Attend faculty meetings, and meet with faculty or director as needed.
  • Assist all health sciences students of dual credit, MSAA , and related certificates as applicable in the lab for facilitating basic and advanced skills.
  • Develop and maintain Procedures and Guidelines Manual for the health sciences lab.
  • Order and maintain an adequate stock of equipment; supplies as needed for skill performance in courses.
  • Set up/assist set up of the lab for skills validations as well as student learning.

Supplemental Functions

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with Collin College policies, procedures and Core Values.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Occasional physical effort required.

Requirements

BSN degree from an accredited institution required.

One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

One (1) year of clinical nursing care experience.

One (1) year of community college or university teaching experience in both didactic and clinical education with an accredited nursing program.

Licenses and Certifications:

Registered Nursing (RN) credential from the Texas Board of Nursing required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers or equivalent required.

This position is generally limited to working a maximum of 19.5 hours per week. (Maximum hours for employees with more than one part-time position at Collin College may vary).

Hours worked may include locations within local ISDs and schedule may be influenced by the ISD calendar and class schedule.
