OhioMeansJobs Highland County is seeking a Nursing Faculty member to join the college-wide nursing program. You will plan and teach courses across classroom, lab, and clinical settings, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum goals are met.
This role emphasizes maintaining current clinical knowledge, mentoring adjunct faculty, supervising teaching assistants, and fostering student development while upholding professional standards and a safe patient care environment.

Engages students in the teaching/learning process in classroom, lab, and clinical; works assigned schedule, participates in college committee work, represents the college in the community, and performs other related duties as required.

Plan and teach courses including classroom, lab, and clinical sessions which fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives.
Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of, or changes in program curriculum.
Remain current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
Maintain posted office hours in accordance with departmental and college policies.
Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
Communicate progress in the course to students in a timely manner.
Determine and submit students’ grades in accordance with established college policies and procedures.
Assist with student advising.
Develop syllabi, mentor adjunct faculty, plus establish and maintain advisory groups. Support the mission of the program, division, and college.
Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.
Serve as a role model for students in professional interaction with other health workers and with clinical facilities.
Maintain a safe environment for the provision of patient care during clinical experiences.
Coach students to provide safe and efficacious patient care during classroom, lab, and clinical experiences.
Promote positive and productive relationships with service area hospitals, clinics, businesses, industries, and agencies.
Maintain relationships with clinical sites and professional peers that support the reputation of SSCC and the Nursing Program
Continue as competent faculty in nursing by seeking new knowledge, improving teaching skills, and updating professional competencies.
Promote student development through enrichment and mentoring experiences.
Direct and supervise the activities of a teaching assistant teaching in the assigned course.
